NEW YORK — Fern Mallis, formerly senior vice president of IMG Fashion, has been named advisory council chairman for ILS 2012: Scotland’s launch event this March.
The core focus of ILS is to connect top designers and international creative industries through integrated events, product launches and retail experiences. The first featured event will be a runway show highlighting textiles from Scotland on March 28 at the Hammerstein Ballroom here.
Mallis, who oversaw New York Fashion Week for many years at IMG and previously as executive director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, will advise and oversee curation for the runway show, which will highlight Scotland’s finest fashion and textiles manufacturers and feature a roster of established and emerging fashion designers. This showcase will include six exclusive capsule collections made from the broad range of Scottish textiles.
ILS is the original creation of Alex Trimper and Little Rascals Creative Concepts.
