LONDON — A smash-and-grab hit Saint Laurent‘s flagship on London’s Old Bond Street on Friday.
Footage of the crime scene, with the store windows smashed into pieces and the metal security shutter badly bent, began to circulate on social media platforms X and Xiaohongshu in the morning.
The Metropolitan Police said three masked men broke into the store, using a black SUV to smash through the windows, at around 02:55 a.m. on Friday, and stole a number of high-value items, including handbags.
Officers were called and arrived at the scene within minutes. Specially trained officers in a police helicopter were in the air within five minutes of the first call.

Detective chief inspector Scott Mather from the Met’s Flying Squad said: “We recognize that an incident like this can impact on the local community, especially businesses and those traveling in and out of central London.”
No arrests have been made at the stage and the Met Police believes the incident is not linked to a separate robbery that took place earlier this week, when armed robbers raided Rolex‘s Knightsbridge shop in the morning.
According to the Metropolitan Police, six suspects wearing motorcycle helmets visited the store, with one entering and threatening staff and members of the public with weapons, including machetes. They took a number of high-value watches. No injuries were reported.
Mather said the officers are working to identify and arrest those responsible.
“This robbery was carried out in a busy part of London, and we understand the alarm it has caused. Our officers were on scene within minutes, and investigators are working at pace to piece together the offenders’ movements. We are determined to find those involved and bring them to justice as swiftly as possible,” he added.
