FOILED AGAIN: The audience at the Givenchy show on Sunday night was split into two camps: those who huddled under foil blankets to ward off the evening chill at the outdoor venue, and those – like Kim Kardashian and Courtney Love — who took in the show defiantly wearing what amounted to lingerie.
Kardashian — who came with her mother Kris and sister Kourtney to watch younger sibling Kendall Jenner walk in the show — braved the 57-degree weather on the grounds of the Paris botanical garden in a sheer white lace slip and flimsy satin robe. Kris Jenner, meanwhile, donned a coat with a large fur collar.
“Riccardo sent this over for me to wear, so I put it on — I did what I was told,” she said with a smile. “I didn’t even know it was outside, to be honest.”
Speaking only hours before Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint at her Paris hotel, Jenner said she regretted the trip had been marred by an incident on Wednesday in which Ukrainian prankster Vitalii Sediuk lunged at Kim as she was entering a restaurant. It was the second time the serial pest targeted her at Paris Fashion Week.
“He does that to everyone, apparently, and it’s a shame that somebody thinks that sort of thing in this day and age is funny because, you know, your personal well-being is so important and you want to feel safe, especially in Paris, where there’s already been a lot of unrest,” Jenner said.
She did not confirm whether Kardashian and her husband, Kanye West, had taken out a restraining order or pressed charges against Sediuk. “I’m sure that they have done something — I’m not sure what it is yet,” she said.
Love peeled back her jacket to show off an ultrashort black velvet-and-lace slip, while her daughter Frances Bean Cobain wore a striped silk version with a barely-there black tulle coat. “I love that they thought of giving space blankets out, because it’s freezing — but the runway looks beautiful,” Cobain said.
While Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik held hands away from the glare of the cameras, Will and Nicola Peltz enjoyed a brother-sister outing. The two are so close, they even got matching tattoos this summer.
“I can show you,” said the actor, hiking up his shirt to show a Hebrew word on his ribcage. “It says ‘family.’ We’re super close, so it’s nice to be connected forever, in a way.” Peltz stars in high-school movie “The Outskirts” and will also be seen later this year in “The Deleted,” written and directed by Bret Easton Ellis.
“I play one of a group of kids who escape from this institute — it’s almost like a cult,” he said of the web series. “It’s very Bret Easton Ellis, you know — violent and sexy, so I’m excited.”
Tahar Rahim was due to start filming “Mary Magdalene,” with Rooney Mara in the title role and Joaquin Phoenix playing Jesus. So who does Rahim get to be? “Judas,” he replied with a smile. “But it’s not the stereotypical Judas you are used to seeing or reading about.”
French actress Christa Théret, meanwhile, is set to star in television mini-series “Maximilian,” in which she plays Mary of Burgundy, wife of the 15th-century Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I. “It’s quite an avant-garde role. She was quite feminist for her time. She was the power behind the throne,” she noted.
