The 2025 White House Correspondents’ Dinner takes place on Saturday at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., with red carpet arrivals beginning at 6 p.m. ET and the dinner starting at 8 p.m. ET. Organized by the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA), the annual event brings together journalists, political figures and entertainment industry guests to recognize outstanding achievements in journalism and raise funds for the WHCA’s First Amendment scholarships and mentorship programs.
This year’s dinner will not feature a comedic headliner, as Amber Ruffin, who was originally scheduled to perform, was removed from the lineup following controversy over her comments about President Trump. President Trump, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and members of the current administration will not attend, continuing a recent trend of presidential absences.
Despite a reduced celebrity presence, the dinner remains a significant occasion for the media, focusing on press freedom, professional recognition, and supporting future journalists. C-SPAN will broadcast the event live.
