DSQUARED2 CHANGES: Dsquared2 and Ennio Fontana, who was named general manager of the Italian brand in March last year, have parted ways, according to sources in Milan.
Dsquared2 did not comment Wednesday.
Fontana succeeded Sergio Azzolari, who moved on to become Roberto Cavalli’s chief executive officer.
It was a swap of sorts as Fontana was previously general manager of Roberto Cavalli and Azzolari was CEO of Dsquared2.

Fontana was tasked by Dsquared2 founders Dean and Dan Caten with reinforcing the brand’s international business development and the expansion strategies of the company aimed at strengthening its positioning. Before Cavalli, he held the same role at Philipp Plein, where he was a longtime collaborator of the namesake German designer and founder of the brand.
Dsquared2 did not show at the edition of Milan Fashion Week that closed last Sunday, but in January, the Catens, who are identical twins, staged their fall 2024 coed show in the city with an entire cast of identical twins. A casting call was put out on Instagram, said Dan Caten at the time, which received more than 1,000 replies from all over the world.
The conceit of their fall show was that identical twins “have different personalities and different characters,” he explained. For example, guests saw a model wearing Dsquared2’s familiar casualwear pileups — part lumberjack, part prepster — traversing a gleaming white set, enter a small round chamber and — zap — come out the other side in a louche ’70s-inspired evening ensemble; clingy dance dresses for her; snazzy shirts or vests, and tight flares for him.
Memorable was Dan Caten striding out in a sparkly, sheer shirt and tight black pants while coming out the other side of the chamber was Dean Caten impersonating Linda Evangelista on a Mugler runway in her redhead phase.
