NEW YORK — Children’s apparel maker Lollytogs Ltd. is about to show off a new identity.
The 48-year-old, family-owned firm is changing its corporate name to LT Apparel Group beginning next month. The name change comes with a revamped logo that shows the LT in front of a globe, signifying the worldwide focus of the company.
“As we ring in this new year, we are proud to introduce our new corporate name and logo,” said Richard Sutton, co-owner of the company. “This name will be used to convey a business model with a borderless scope and a focus on the global supply chain, faster turns and higher margins for our retail partners.”
Established in 1958 by Sam Gindi and Morris and Alfred Sutton, the company is known for its quality children’s wear. It claims a number of firsts: the first company to successfully bring fashion-coordinate groupings to the mass market, the first to produce and mass market a school uniform line for public schools and the first to offer guaranteed next-day UPS shipping.
Today, the firm produces apparel under such brand names as French Toast, French Toast Official School Wear, Healthtex, Cotler, Cotler Girl and Rim Rocka. It also makes children’s apparel under licensing agreements with Adidas and Lee School. All of its products are sold at department and specialty retailers.
