PARIS — About 500 guests turned out to view a combination of rock-Goth, cabaret-inspired looks and Victoriana fantasy à la Josephine at the Salon International de la Lingerie’s annual fashion show.
The Champagne event was staged to show how lingerie can attain a couture level through creativity, innovation and the use of textiles, laces and embroideries that typically are not used in the commercial arena.
This year’s jury, presided over by supermodel Eva Herzigova, included literary critic Fréderic Beigbeder; Jos Berry, chief executive officer of Concepts Paris; couture designer Eymeric François; Agathe Godard, reporter for Match magazine; Lydia Kamitsis, fashion historian; Edith Keller, chief executive officer of Carlin International; Anne de Sercey, lingerie consultant and designer, and Jean-Pierre Vigato, owner and Michelin-star chef of Apicus restaurant in Paris.
Didier Grumbach, president of the Federation de la Couture, was on hand to kick off the awards ceremony after the show.
The winners of the three honors — Touch of Madness Award, the Award for Adventurous Use of Materials and the Jury’s Special Prize — were Cadolle, Passionata and Calvin Klein Underwear.
