LONDON – Samsonite has named British designer Christopher Pearson its new global creative director, effective from September.
Pearson, who has worked for design houses including Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Hermes, replaces Quentin Mackay, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities, Samsonite said.
Pearson will design collections under the Samsonite Black Label, Samsonite and American Tourister brands and be based in London. Earlier this year, Pearson collaborated on the Samsonite Black Label Bayamo project, a collection of structured business and travel bags for men.
“With Christopher’s appointment…we unite our unrivalled history with Pearson’s modern style and design credentials,” said Marcello Bottoli, president and chief executive officer of Samsonite.
A Samsonite spokeswoman said Pearson’s influence on its collections would be seen from early next year.
