NEW YORK — Rag & Bone is ready for its women’s push.
The men’s line was founded two years ago by Nathan Bogle and Marcus Wainwright, a pair of Englishmen transplanted to New York. The clothes started to attract the attention of women when a friend, Sienna Miller, who appeared last year in the film “Alfie” and is the intended of Jude Law, started getting photographed in them.
The rollout of the women’s line for fall consists of three styles: five-pocket jeans with a loose straight leg; trouser-pocket jeans with a fitted straight leg available in indigo and black, and a five-pocket men’s-inspired straight leg. Like the men’s collection, the focus is on stitching, rather than the laundering process.
“The collections are inspired by what we want to wear day in and day out,” said Bogle, a former model who lives on the Lower East Side here.
The initial collection also will include wool and twill trousers, T-shirts, raglan sweaters and blazers. The line’s jeans, which are manufactured in Kentucky, will wholesale from $95 to $120, with tops starting at $28.
The line is represented by the Denise Williamson showroom in SoHo here, and expects to generate $1 million in first-year sales.
