PARIS — An exclusive line of lingerie by Chantal Thomass will soon be unveiled as part of a topsy-turvy happening at Galeries Lafayette, designed by Hilton McConnico. Dubbed “La France, C’est Renversant,” which loosely translates as “France Turns Everything Upside-Down,” the event will run here Sept. 12 to Oct. 6. Thomass’ window, one of several designed by McConnico, will involve a particularly cheeky mise-en-scène. The set will feature a mannequin hanging upside down on a tightrope, flashing her underwear. “Let’s just say I’ve never seen lingerie presented like this before,” said McConnico, who has constructed a giant upside-down Eiffel Tower to hang in the store’s cupola.
An array of design and fashion brands will participate in the project, including Hussein Chalayan, Andrée Putman and Christian Dior.
