Europe Wraps Up

PARIS — While the weather outside is frightful, French shoppers are donning delightful outdoor gear so they at least look hot. As the mercury dived below freezing in Europe this week, cropped fur jackets or short jackets with fur trimmings, cargo jackets and classic wool coats were key elements of style, while knee-high boots worn over pants and multicolored scarves kept things fun.
Meanwhile, across the Channel in London, the British were typically unprepared for the first cold snap of the winter and stuck to their staple uniform of fake-fur gilets, extralong wool scarves, denim miniskirts, slouchy boots, bare legs…and red noses.
