Valentino unveiled its first standalone men’s boutique in Asia in Hong Kong last week. The 2,116-square-foot store, with floors of black and white marble and wood, occupies a space in the basement of The Landmark, a building with offices and a shopping center in the heart of Central, the city’s business district.
Male models showed off the Italian label’s fall-winter collection in the store as Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming, Chinese-American beauty Fala Chan, Hong Kong actor Law Chung-him, lyricist Wyman Wong, and Valentino Asia Pacific chief executive officer Oliver Yang mingled.
Though menswear has previously been sold at Valentino branches in Asia, this marks the first time that the label has opened a standalone store on the continent exclusively dedicated to male shoppers.
The Landmark recently refurbished the basement floor into a 60,000-square-foot, retail area called Landmark Men for male shoppers. Besides Valentino, tenants include Thomas Pink, Gucci, Lanvin and Louis Vuitton.
