Nicole and Felicia Chang have finally taken the plunge down the runway.
On Monday night, the sister duo behind Nicole + Felicia put on their first fashion show, “A Decade of Excellence,” celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Taipei-based bridal and eveningwear house. Held at The Shed in Hudson Yards, the event marked an early start to NYLBFW, which officially begins Tuesday.
“It’s a momentous milestone, not just for Nicole + Felicia as a brand, but for our entire team,” the Changs said. “Stepping onto that runway felt like an extension of everything we worked so hard to build.”
The Chang family was already an established entity in Southeast Asia’s bridal manufacturing hub when Nicole + Felicia launched in 2015. Taking a divide-and-conquer approach, Nicole oversees creative, while Felicia manages the brand’s finances and production. Nicole + Felicia counts over 100 stockists worldwide, but the U.S. is its largest growth market, hence their decision to land Stateside.

Already, the sisters have made inroads in Hollywood, dressing the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Halle Bailey, though it was Taylor Swift who shot them to fame after she performed in a trio of custom ballgowns during her “The Eras” tour.
Shimmering with crystals and swirling sequin motifs, one could certainly imagine the “Life of a Showgirl” singer choosing a gown from Nicole + Felicia’s fall collection for her upcoming nuptials. But the sisters considered metallics in more abstract terms as well, saying they wanted to emulate the properties of aluminum, the traditional gift for couples who’ve hit the 10-year mark to symbolize their flexibility and durability.
To that end, dresses with removable trains or sleeves will allow brides “flexible” styling opportunities, while “durable” corsets bore the weight of gargantuan skirts, like the blush-colored finale composed entirely of three-dimensional rosettes. The showstopper was one of 10 from Nicole + Felicia’s new couture division and took about 600 hours to materialize.
Looking ahead, the Changs said they plan to lean on their red carpet clout to make eveningwear a more lucrative part of Nicole + Felicia’s wholesale business.
Who knows, their next show might just be at New York Fashion Week.
