Michael Kors will break ground next month on a distribution center in Trade Port North in Venlo, Netherlands. The distribution center will service the brand’s European and Middle Eastern retail, wholesale and eventually, e-commerce needs.
The 1 million-square-foot center is designed by Dutch firm DENC. The center is the largest such facility in Venlo, and is planned to service Kors’ projected growth over the next 10 years.
Designed as a green building, the center will include LED interior lighting and a solar-panel roof. The facility is expected to eventually create about 400 jobs in the region.
John D. Idol, chairman and chief executive officer of Kors, said, “The scale and sophistication of the facility reflect our commitment to substantial growth across all channels of distribution in both Europe and the Middle East.”
