Cole Haan is entering Manhattan’s downtown market for the first time with a boutique that is opening today on Prince Street in Soho.
The 1,720-square-feet of selling space is flush with oak wood paneling, black accents, custom metal cabinets, steel and oak shelving and reclaimed oak herringbone floors, and it features a dramatic chandelier. The front salon has seating upholstered in felt, raw cotton and Japanese indigo. The rear has an evolving gallery of curated items.
The space was designed by Roman and Williams Buildings and Interiors, which is known for its work at the Ace and Standard Hotels.
Dave McTague, chief executive officer of Cole Haan, said the brand decided to open in Soho because of the neighborhood’s “unique blend of historic character and youthful energy that resonates with our Cole Haan consumers.”
