Jim Williams has landed a new job.
The longtime industry figure and former chief executive officer of Gold Toe has been named ceo of the International Legwear Group, which owns the Peds label and holds the licenses for Haggar and Walls.
Williams had been with Gold Toe for 20 years but left following the company’s acquisition by The Blackstone Group in 2008 and its subsequent merger with Moretz Hosiery. Over the course of his four-decade career, Williams has also served as chairman of the board of Maidenform Worldwide and The Hosiery Association.
In addition ILG has named Brey Williams to the post of chief marketing officer. He served most recently as president of sales of Gold Toe/Moretz, and prior to that, was executive vice president of national accounts for Gold Toe Brands.
Scott Andrews, chairman of the ILG board of directors, said, “The addition of Jim and Brey provides the company with a management team that is unmatched in the legwear industry. In joining Kathy Willis, ILG’s president who engineered the company’s financial turnaround three years ago, ILG now has the industry’s most experienced and successful leadership across all facets of the hosiery industry. ILG has always been known as a great manufacturing company. With the addition of Jim and Brey, we now have a world class team to leverage our manufacturing platform and return ILG to industry prominence.”
