Eileen West has signed a licensing agreement with Concepts NYC Inc. to produce a collection of foundations for fall 2010.
The collection of bras and coordinating undies, as well as a panty table program, will be launched at the November market. Distribution is aimed at the same major stores and specialty boutiques that sell sleepwear and robes by Eileen West, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s and Dillard’s, said Joseph Bibi, president of Concepts NYC.
A first-year wholesale sales figure was not available, but the foundations could generate sales in excess of $4 million, according to industry estimates. The first line of Eileen West shapewear is also in the works, said Bibi.
West, who has a licensing agreement with The Komar Co. to manufacture and distribute sleepwear and robes, said the colors and some fabrics, such as Modal, of both the sleepwear and foundations will be “coordinated and can easily be merchandised together.”

“We’ll be using the delicate trims and special vintage touches that have become synonymous with the Eileen West brand, like embroidered nettings and elastic stretch trims,” said West. “Fabrics for the bras will include MicroModal, brushed micro, micro with lace and stretch laces. We hope to incorporate our signature prints, as well.”
Bras will retail from $38 to $48 and will be available in cup sizes 32A to 44DDD. Coordinating undies will be priced at $22 to $27 in sizes 6 to 14, and table-top panties will sell at three pairs for $27.
The collection of Eileen West foundations will be shown at the Concepts NYC showrooms at 20 West 33rd Street in Manhattan.
