When Carnell Tate walks into the 2026 NFL Draft next week in Pittsburgh, he’ll be sporting something that will be sure to turn heads. No, it’s not a bespoke suit or bedazzled loafers, it’s a Snickers Ice Cream Chill Chain.
The custom pendant, created in partnership with Verstolo Fine Jewelry, is crafted from solid gold set with 285 lab-grown rubies, sapphires and diamonds totaling approximately 9.5 carats and suspended from a gold-finished Cuban link chain in sterling silver. The custom-designed necklace is based on the gem-encrusted Hungry Chain that Snickers rewarded in 2020 to NFL players it deemed the hungriest on the field.
This time around, the company picked Tate, a 21-year-old wide receiver for the Ohio State Buckeyes, to help it promote its Snickers Ice Cream. The concept is that Tate, who is expected to be a top-10 pick on the opening night of the draft on April 23, is “feeling the heat,” and Snickers is helping him chill with its special-edition ice cream. Get it?

It may be a stretch, but the Chill Chain is a one-of-a-kind piece that will go to a fan who enters a drawing between Wednesday and April 30.
“I was big on staying level-headed in the moments heading into the draft,” Tate said. “So being able to partner with Snickers ice cream bars to stay chill helps with the hot takes going on at this time.”
Tate said he’s especially fond of the Crunchy Peanut Butter flavor and has been indulging as he awaits the big night. Although he’s expected to be among the first players chosen, Tate is just grateful to be in the conversation. “I’m just fortunate to go first round,” he said. “I haven’t really paid too much attention to how high I can go.”
He plans to attend the draft in person with his whole family who will be there to show support. As a Chicago native, he secretly hopes that he may get selected by his hometown Bears, but he’d be happy anywhere. “It would be a blessing to go back home, but ultimately, I don’t really care where I go,” he said.
Making it to the NFL is a dream he’s had since he was a child. “I just fell in love with the game at a young age,” he said. “My granny put me in sports because my cousin and I used to run around the house throwing balls. So she signed us up for the local park districts team and ever since, I’ve been in love with the sport of football.”
So beyond the Chill Chain, what will Tate wear for the big night? A cream suit he picked up at Abercrombie & Fitch along with black YSL boots. And he’s hoping that Snickers will make a second version of the chain for him to keep. “But that’s a work in progress right now,” he said.
