On Monday morning, Ariana DeBose joined a slew of Hollywood stars including Halle Berry, Blake Lively, Annita, Ellen Pompeo, Olivia Wilde and more at the Michael Kors show.
The Oscar winner opted for a fringed minidress and a pair of snakeskin print tall boots for the early morning show.
“Anytime I’m in Michael Kors I feel connected to my NYC roots — to everything that makes the city great!” Bose said. “He has such a nuanced way of bringing it into his designs. And today in particular I feel so damn sexy. I always have fun in a MK design! Chic!”
Her favorite memory with the designer and his brand was two Septembers ago, when she performed for the crowd, she said.

“First of all, anytime I’m invited into the world of Michael Kors it’s special to me. One of my favorite memories was the Spring/Summer 2022 show. I had the honor of performing the music for the show and it was a glorious celebration of classic New York vibes,” she said. “It gave me a tiny peek into his process and the opportunity to see a master at work. The cherry on top was getting to attend my first Met Gala with him the very next day with the wonderful group that he had chosen. Not only is he an incredible designer, but a cultivator of community. He surrounds himself with the nicest people.”
DeBose said this fall she’s looking forward to wearing “high collars and long, chunky cashmere sweaters” once the weather permits. Her current style icon, Diane Keaton, is well-versed in those classics.
“She’s always so in her skin! Authentic to herself — and most importantly she always looks comfortable,” DeBose said of Keaton, before adding that her own style is always evolving.
“I’ve been using this time to take my own style back to square one — what makes me feel like me, regardless of the frills and fancy things. So I’ve found that I’ve drawn inspiration from Naomi Campbell (’90s lewks), Blake Lively, Zendaya, and Robin Wright. I know that’s a random group of women, but they all have embraced a style sensibility that celebrates who they are and that’s been inspiring to me on my own journey.”
