The Independent Spirit Awards, founded in 1984, celebrated the best films and performances in the independent film and television industry on Feb. 25. The 39th annual ceremony, held in Los Angeles, was hosted by comedian and former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Aidy Bryant. The 2024 event introduced a new category: Best Breakthrough Performance in a New Scripted Series.
