Back-to-back shows, late night dinners and even later parties. Ah, fashion week. These pros have the know-how to flit from place to place, sans breaking a sweat — or a heel.
Sally Albemarle, sculptor
Beauty regimen: “A manicure and pedicure at Silk Spa, and a spa treatment with Darphin products.”
What she’ll wear: “I try to wear an item or outfit of the designer whose show I am attending. It may be old-fashioned, but it’s polite. I will always wear a coat or jacket that will keep me warm, like a wonderful featherweight fur from Pologeorgis.”
In between meals: Orange and lime Tic Tacs.
Mode of transportation: “Usually the yellow limo: a taxi, in other words.”
Shows she’ll see: Catherine Malandrino, Calvin Klein, Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera and Michael Kors.
Accessories of choice: “Usually minimal silver Elsa Peretti jewelry goes with everything. The bags are either Anya Hindmarch’s Ebury bag or an Hermès Bugatti bag or, if evening, a Calvin Klein silver box clutch.”
Notebook: “I do not write. I just sit back and enjoy the show.”
Late-night fix: “Fresh fruit at home, then to bed ready for an early rise with my two-year-old son.”
Behnaz Sarafpour, designer
Beauty regimen: “Hot baths and cutting out Krispy Kremes, Frappuccinos and McDonald’s. Anything that will cause those highs and lows.”
Shows she’ll see: “I usually try to go to Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors, but since my show is on Wednesday this season, I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it.”
Daily treat: “A chocolate drink from the Chocolate Bar near my apartment.”
Mode of transportation: “Walking. My apartment is in the Village and my studio is in Chelsea.”

Beauty regimen: “The hair already got cut at Julien Farel, and then a mani and a pedi. The follow-up mani happens at the end of this week, but no massages or facials until six weeks after.”
What she’ll wear: “I still have some shopping to do. But right now I’m loving the idea of shine and metallics — a beautiful yellow brocade shell from Vera [Wang], a gold sequined tank from Tory [by TRB] and a cute pearl jacket from Peter Som.”
Accessories of choice: Gold Rafe and Stephen Dweck necklaces.
In between meals: “I always have FAO Schweetz on me with Smarts and Gobstoppers.”
Mode of transportation: Taxi
Notebook: Chinoiserie bound ones from a store in Chinatown on Mott Street for $2.99.
Late-night fix: Soho House or Indochine
Vanessa von Bismarck, P.R. maven
Beauty regimen: “Since someone just tried to steal my Valextra bag and broke every single nail, but didn’t get the bag — the answer is yes, a manicure.”
What she’ll wear: “The designer that is showing.”
Mode of transportation: “The subway and driving.”
Shows she’s producing: Derek Lam, Richard Chai, Luella Bartley, Matthew Williamson, Cynthia Steffe, Betsey Johnson.
On her feet: “I always make the same mistake and wear heels.”
Late-night fix: “Raiding the kitchen late at night is always the best option.”
Amy Astley, editor in chief of Teen Vogue
Beauty regimen: “My hairdresser, Orlando, is gone and he won’t be back until after the New York shows. So my bangs will be in my eyes.”
What she’ll wear: “I never plan outfits, I think it comes off too costume-y. I wear what I wear to work — maybe a basic trouser and a sweater.”
Accessories of choice: “I love jewelry. I love my Louis Vuitton pearls in white and black and my Louis Vuitton platforms.
In between meals: “Maybe some mints.”
Mode of transportation: “Walking to Bryant Park, but I’ll take a car to far-flung places.”
Notebook: “I don’t take notes. I just scribble in the margin of the [run of show] sheets.”
Shows she’ll see: Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc, Proenza Schouler, Oscar de la Renta, Jill Stuart, DKNY and Cynthia Steffe.
Late-night fix: “Getting my kids to sleep.”
Helen Schifter, philanthropist
Beauty regimen: “I try to get two manicures (Essie’s Sugar Daddy) during the week and keep a tub of hand cream nearby.”
What she’ll wear: “I don’t plan outfits, I’m more impulsive. I will wear the same piece more than once in the week, but mix it so it looks completely different.”
In between meals: Mints and Life Savers (“I share these with seatmates”), protein bars, gummy bears and water in the car. “Never gum!”
Mode of transportation: “Our driver in our Range Rover, though it is hard to climb into that rig in skirts.”
Shows she’ll see: Tuleh, Oscar de la Renta, Proenza Schouler, Narciso Rodriguez, Michael Kors, Anna Sui, J. Mendel, Calvin Klein, Zac Posen. “[My daughter] Storey got her very own invitation to Anna Sui and is counting the days. She wants to do a fourth-grade report on the show.”
On her feet: “Heels or flats, but I do keep Band-Aids in the car.”
Parties of the week: “Soho House screening hosted by Julie [Moore] and the Calvin dinner is fun.”
Accessories of choice: LeSportsac (run by her husband, Tim) glam rock “Remix” handbag in nylon and metallic leather; over-the-elbow knitted cashmere gloves. “I’m loving the traditional Hermès scarf again.”
Late-night fix: “Tequila shots and pomegranate margaritas at Rosa Mexicano, pasta con tartufo at Da Silvano or lettuce-wrapped squab and champagne at Mr. Chow.”
