Just as fashion fatigue was beginning to set in on Day Five of New York Fashion Week, the MTV Video Music Awards descended on the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., to shake things up. The VMAs are notoriously the most wild and adventurous red carpet, with a few good fashion moments tucked in between all the chaos.
The proximity of NYFW to the awards show meant a few celebrities wore fresh off the runway moments, Saweetie being one of them. The musician chose an Area gown with major bone accessorizing, and WWD loves the cheekiness of the whole look. Similarly, Lil Nas X wore a Palomo Spain look that was just shown during NYFW.
