Michael Kors touched down in London on Thursday night for a series of events to celebrate the official opening of his namesake label’s flagship on Regent Street.
Despite the pouring rain, the store was packed with guests who were looking to meet and chat with the legendary designer and former “Project Runway” judge. Brand ambassador Suki Waterhouse arrived around 7 p.m. to cohost the party with Kors.
Spanning two floors, the store comes with a stripped-back interior and is designed to put the focus on product and reflect a more relaxed version of luxury. It carries women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, small leather goods, footwear, and men’s accessories.
For a relaxed and inviting environment, the store’s interiors feature a neutral color palette, natural textures with polished marble finishes, and wooden floors. Beyond the shop floor, the brand is also positioning the flagship as a stage for activations, hosting large-scale displays and experiential moments for seasonal campaigns.

Later in the evening, the party continued at Claridge’s Restaurant in the form of an intimate dinner with friends of the brand, including Gemma Chan, Henry Golding, Rashida Jones, Amelia Dimoldenberg, and Haley Bennett.
London social fixtures such as Jourdan Dunn, Erin O’Connor, Gene and Lennon Gallagher, Lady Amelia and Eliza Spencer, and Raff Law also attended the dinner, wearing head-to-toe Michael Kors ensembles.
“I am so excited to host a great dinner at Claridge’s tonight. Suki Waterhouse is looking very fabulous, and I love Gemma Chan and Henry Golding’s looks tonight. It’s a very chic crowd,” the designer told WWD.
For the night, Chan wore a camel knit top with a matching asymmetric ruffled skirt, paired with a tasteful belted clutch bag in husk. Her “Crazy Rich Asians” costar Golding opted for a bold sequined top in black, with the Negroni in his hand being the most appropriate festive decoration at the dinner.
