COME SE DICE ‘TRIBECA’ IN ITALIA?: No one can question Miuccia Prada’s devotion to the Tribeca Film Festival. In fact, she loves it so much the Fondazione Prada plans to host a miniature version in Milan in October titled “The Best of the Tribeca Film Festival.” “We will show a selection of the highlights,” says Germano Celant, the artistic director of Fondazione Prada. Festival co-founders Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are set to attend.
Among the festivities in New York last week, Fondazione Prada debuted its new book, “Tribeca Talks,” a compilation of photographs and text documenting the festival’s first two years. The organization also hosted in-store screenings at the SoHo space for films such as “The Beauty Academy of Kabul,” Liz Mermin’s documentary about American women traveling to post-Taliban Afghanistan to offer beauty advice, and presented a series of conversations with directors Martin Scorsese and Garry Marshall.
