Rockets of Awesome, seasonal subscription boxes filled with on-trend, direct-to-consumer children’s apparel, has expanded into the ath-leisure category.
For spring, the company will offer 14 girls’ styles and 14 boys’ styles, including pants, leggings, shorts, T-shirts, polos, tanks and hoodies. Boys’ styles range from $18 to $34, with an average price of $19, while girls’ styles range from $16 to $36, with an average price of $24. This new category is in addition to its regular dressy-casual offering.
Sizes in the ath-leisure category range from 4 to 14, with some styles available in 2/3.
The move to ath-leisure was predicated on some successful performance pieces that the company was offering in its regular selection.
“As a vertically integrated company, we’re able to quickly cater to our customers’ wants and needs by using data from their preferences and purchases to inform future collections. In our first two seasons, we saw incredibly high demand for the ath-leisure pieces we offered and immediately knew we needed to expand to offer a full collection,” said Rachel Blumenthal, founder and chief executive officer of Rockets of Awesome.

The way Rockets of Awesome works is customers register on the site and create a style file, answering questions about what their kids like or dislike, such as polka dots or stripes, or skinny or straight jeans. The company compiles data from customers’ behavioral patterns with their kids’ preferences. With every interaction, the experience becomes more personalized, resulting in a highly curated delivery of outfits each season — four times a year.
