NEW YORK — Philip Davis, a 27-year veteran of the apparel industry, has been named president and general manager of Beyond Productions LLC, the parent of Beyonce and Tina Knowles&’ House of Deréon and Deréon brands.
He will be responsible for all aspects of the brand’ operations, merchandising, design, sales, marketing, licensing and manufacturing, and will report directly to the company’ board.
Davis said he wasn&’t planning drastic changes, maintaining that his job was to move the brands forward and make sure that the Knowles family and its licensees were all on the same page with positioning.
“This is such a great opportunity to build a brand, both domestically and globally,” Davis said. “It gives me the chance to be an architect and build brands that have such growth potential.”
Most recently, Davis spent seven years as vice president and general manager of Danskin Brands. He had been president of Liz Claiborne swimwear and before that was at Reebok Apparel as vice president of sales and merchandising. Davis began his career in the Macy’ training program and spent seven years with the organization.
Davis, who started at the company Jan. 29, replaced Chip Rosen, who left last month.
