Nordstrom Inc’s longtime board member Enrique “Rick” Hernandez Jr. will not seek reelection to the board at the end of his current term in May.
Hernandez joined the Nordstrom board in 1997, became lead director in August 2000 for five years and subsequently chairman and presiding director from May 2006 through May 2016. Philip Satre was appointed chairman in May 2016.
“As Rick moves to focus on his other personal and professional pursuits, we want to thank him for his 20 years of service as one of our most valued and longest-term board members,” said Blake Nordstrom, copresident of Nordstrom.
Hernandez has served as the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Inter-Con Security Systems Inc., and earlier he was a litigation attorney with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in Los Angeles.
Nordstrom operates 123 full-line stores, 215 Nordstrom Rack stores, two Jeffrey boutiques, two clearance stores, nordstrom.com, nordstromrack.com, HauteLook and Trunk Club.
