(Bloomberg) — Icon Acquisitions Holdings LP’s Playboy Enterprises unit filed a copyright-infringement suit in an Irish court claiming an entertainment website in that country published without permission a link to photos of supermodel Kate Moss “in various states of undress,” the Irish Times reported.
The company, which specializes in adult-themed content, said the link to the photos was published on the website a week before the magazine’s 60th anniversary edition — featuring the same photos — came out in December 2013, according to the newspaper.
At a preliminary hearing, counsel for the accused website, Entertainment Media Networks’ www.entertainment.ie, told Ireland’s High Court that the link was posted in a “lighthearted” manner and was taken down shortly after the company’s managing director learned about it, the newspaper said.
Playboy asked the court to order the defendant to file its response to the complaint, complaining that its failure to do so was a delaying tactic, the Irish Times reported.
