PARIS — Yves Saint Laurent has promoted Philippe Contini to worldwide communication and marketing director, in charge of advertising, media, public relations, marketing and digital communication.
The executive returned to YSL last year to take on the post of associate worldwide communication director. His new role was effective Dec. 21.
Contini reports to YSL chief executive officer Francesca Bellettini. He succeeds Cédric Charbit, who was communication and merchandising director at Saint Laurent before being appointed ceo of Balenciaga in October. YSL and Balenciaga belong to French conglomerate Kering, parent of Gucci, Puma and other brands.
Most recently, Contini had been deputy communications director at Dior Homme for four years. Prior to that, he had spent about a decade at YSL, rising to director of image under designer Stefano Pilati, in charge of visual merchandising, corporate image and fashion shows and special events.
