Following International Women’s Day, L’Oréal USA unveiled that three U.S.-based women scientists will be recognized in Paris on March 18 as International Rising Talents. A new element of L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science, which promotes scientific excellence of women scientists from around the globe, The International Rising Talents program recognizes contributions to the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
The platform seeks to boost the careers of 15 doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows by offering them additional grant support and international exposure. This year’s International Rising Talents are already making contributions in disciplines like neuroscience and evolutionary biology. In addition to grants of 15,000 euros each, or $16,294 at current exchange, the female scientists being recognized will receive special mentorship and training from other top L’Oréal-UNESCO female scientists to further empower and prepare them for a long-lasting career.
