John Hooks has joined Miroglio Fashion as independent councilor.
Highly regarded in the industry, Hooks started his career in 1979 at the GFT Group. In the 1995 to 2000 period, he worked at Jil Sander as worldwide commercial and retail director, followed by 11 years at the Giorgio Armani group, where he rose to become deputy chairman. From 2011 to 2014, Hooks held the role of chief executive officer and group president of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region at Ralph Lauren Europe.
Elena Miroglio, president of Miroglio Fashion, said “this reputable appointment is in line with the company’s choice to rely on the collaboration of managers with great experience and international prestige.” For example, Miroglio also cited the presence on the board of Ermenegildo Zegna group executive Giorgio Delpiano, also independent councilor.
Based in Alba, in Italy’s Piedmont region, Miroglio Fashion produces and distributes 11 women’s brands, including Motivi, Elena Mirò, Caractère and Fiorella Rubino. The group has more than 1,000 stores in Italy and 1,300 globally. Around 5,000 multibrand stores carry the group’s labels in more than 30 countries.
