PARIS – Galeries Lafayette has named Alix Morabito as fashion editor, a newly created position.
Formerly deputy buying director, men’s wear and accessories, Morabito is charged with reinforcing the department store chain’s fashion communications and making sure its offer is stylistically coherent, Galeries Lafayettes said on Wednesday.
She reports to Elisabeth Cazorla, director of ready-to-wear and member of the executive committee at Galeries Lafayette.
Morabito, 36, first joined Galeries Lafayette in 2005 as a women’s fashion buyer. From 2008 to 2012, she was luxury and designer senior buyer at rival department store Printemps, and for the next three years, fashion accessories and licenses collection director at Chloé. She returned to Galeries Lafayette in 2015.
She holds a master’s degree in fashion management from the Institut Français de la Mode.
