Bobbi Brown Cosmetics has tapped Juan “JR” Abad for the role of senior vice president, global creative, for the brand.
In this role, Abad will be charged with executing the brand’s creative three process via “design, vision and direction,” said Peter Lichtenthal, president of Bumble and bumble and Bobbi Brown, in an internal memo, noting that the creative and visual merchandising departments will report to Abad. Abad will report to Lichtenthal.
“JR’s capabilities encompass advertising and editorial design, print, collateral and package design, interactive and Web design, limited-edition publications, and events,” Lichtenthal continued in the memo. “Prior to joining Bobbi Brown, JR was the founder and creative director of ZOO, where he was responsible for brand awareness and definition across a diverse client list including Burberry, Givenchy, David Yurman and Target. He was also cocreative director of Chandelier Creative from 2007 to 2012. JR is able to fluidly conceptualize and produce brand communication across platforms, and has successfully and consistently repositioned global luxury, hospitality, and beauty brands.”
Added Bobbi Brown, founder and chief creative officer of the brand which bears her name and is owned by the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc.: “JR has experience working with boutique agencies and large corporations, so he has a unique perspective into both business and creative aspects of an organization. This experience will enhance our brand creative and help take the brand to the next level by creating a more consistent luxury brand image across the globe.”
