LONDON — European stock markets were mixed in late morning trading on Thursday.
The DAX in Frankfurt declined 0.3 percent to 11,995.24, followed by the FTSE 100 in London, 0.2 percent to 7,293.68. Meanwhile, the CAC 40 in Paris climbed 0.2 percent to 4,903.99, and the FTSE MIB in Milan was flat at 18,885.66.
The euro traded at $1.05, while the pound fetched $1.24 and the Swiss franc equaled $0.98 at 11:30 a.m. CET.
Retail and luxury stocks also put on an uneven performance, with the morning’s biggest risers including Koovs, up 2.6 percent to 0.46 pounds; Joules Group, 1.7 percent to 2.42 pounds, and Bonmarché Holdings, 1.3 percent to 0.76 pounds.
Among the morning’s biggest fallers were Asos.com, down 1.9 percent to 52.53 pounds; Jimmy Choo, 1.7 percent to 1.56 pounds, and Yoox-Net-a-porter, 1.6 percent to 22.57 euros.
