Hugo Boss and the union representing the Cleveland suit factory it had planned to shutter have reached a tentative agreement, likely ending the rancorous year-long battle between the two parties.
The deal, which would keep Hugo Boss’ suit production in the U.S. and with it 300 union jobs, comes after a three-month standoff between the Metzingen, Germany-based company and the Workers United union. Union members are assembling this morning to ratify the deal.
“Against all odds, we have saved a critical U.S. apparel manufacturing facility in Brooklyn, Ohio,” said Workers United president Bruce Raynor.
Terms of the agreement could not immediately be learned.
