LONDON — Europe’s major markets were in flux in mid-morning trading on Thursday, while retail and luxury stocks were uneven.
The FTSE MIB in Milan climbed 0.5 percent to 18,837.04, followed by the FTSE 100 in London, 0.1 percent to 7,115.45. The DAX in Frankfurt was down 0.4 percent to 11,614.47, followed by the CAC 40 in Paris, 0.1 percent to 4,791.88.
The euro traded at $1.08, while the pound fetched $1.26 and the Swiss franc equaled $1.01 at 10:15 a.m. CET.
Retail and luxury stocks were also uneven, with the morning’s biggest risers including Yoox Net-a-porter Group, 1.8 percent to 23.79 euros; Boohoo.com, 1.5 percent to 1.41 pounds; Mulberry Group, 2.5 percent to 11.07 pounds, and Essilor International, 1 percent to 107.50 euros.
Among the morning’s biggest fallers were Italia Independent Group, 2.2 percent to 4.65 euros; French Connection, 6.9 percent to 0.37 pounds, and Swatch Group, 2 percent to 67.75 Swiss francs.
