Apple Inc. is paying big bucks for Angela Ahrendts, whose total compensation weighed in at an eye popping $73.4 million last year.
The design-savvy tech giant poached the former chief executive officer of Burberry in 2013 and put her in charge of its stores as senior vice president of retail and online stores last year.
Ahrendts was by far the highest paid executive named in the company’s proxy statement, which was released last night. She raked in nearly eight times more than ceo Tim Cook for the year. Cook’s take was just $9.2 million. He received no stock awards, while most of Ahrendts pay came in the form of stock, valued at of $70 million.
Ahrendts also received a $411,538 salary, a $500,000 bonus, another cash payment of $1.6 million and other compensation of $790,038, including relocation expenses.
