For the upcoming fall 2026 season, Vitale Barberis Canonico has unveiled its latest offerings. The Italy-based wool mill has continued to maintain its leadership in the market with its fabrics — and it continues to set the trends and offerings for the modern-day consumer.
While Vitale Barberis Canonico is more than 360 years old, Francesco Barberis Canonico, the company’s board member, said that the company’s vision looking ahead is to provide the new generations with “beautiful fabrics” that are “even more versatile and even perform better.” He noted that their fabrics are natural, allowing them to be sustainable and durable for wearability.
Barberis Canonico is the 13th generation to help lead the family-run business, alongside Alessandro Barberis Canonico, chief executive officer, and Lucia Bianchi Maiocchi, the company’s head of sustainability.
The new Vitale Barberis Canonico Super 150’s fabric uses fine Australian wool to create a fluid and luxurious handle. The Intrepid fabric is ideal for business suits year round. The flannel and cashmere blends versions for the chillier seasons that maintain a softer finish in the Prince of Wales, stripes, herringbone and micro design color hues.
For outerwear, the fabric was developed with water-resistant, windproof and breathable performance variations for Intrepid and Intrepid with cashmere — making it ideal for both windbreakers and duster overcoats.
Meanwhile, Vitale Barberis Canonico offers 100 percent Saxon merino wool for double-faced overcoats and a 6-ply overcoat in macro-herringbone designs. For its plains and contrasts palette, the mélange and colors were inspired by women’s fashion.
The Italian wool mill also interpreted denim in the well-crafted Vitale Barberis Canonico wools for a sophisticated style. Using Australian wools, classic jean hues were used for the 100 pure wool fabrics — which the company said reproduces the style and look of traditional denim, enhanced by the softness, warmth and comfort that comes from using merino wools.
Denim 21 Micron was born from their exclusive 21 Micron wool, providing a performance fabric that is resistant, breathable and durable — Vitale Barberis Canonico proposes using the fabric for a suit for an everyday wearable style that emphasizes refinement yet practicality.
The Crush 22 Micron Denim, created from the exclusive 21 Micron wool, produced a crumpled effect for a more modern aesthetic look. The denim version has a fresh appearance that maintains the breathability and resilience of 21 Micron wool.
To mark 25 years of collaboration with Bytom, Vitale Barberis Canonico celebrated the Polish brand’s 80th anniversary in September. In Warsaw, Bytom held a fashion show where the fabrics of the Italian wool mill was at the center. Perennial, Woolen Flannel, Rustic Tropical 21 Micron, Tropical and Revenge were used to create garments that both spoke to today’s consumer and connected in both companies’ traditions — with storytelling that embodies both craftsmanship and innovation.
Looking ahead, Barberis Canonico shared that Vitale Barberis Canonico has a strong presence in mature markets, but is looking to expand in growing ones such as Poland and Eastern Europe, South America and Southeast Asia.
“More recently, we have been receiving increasing interest from Africa — particularly from younger generations who may be following us on social media. I am very eager to explore this further, especially as contemporary suits are becoming trendy again,” concluded Barberis Canonico.
