The West Coast has long been famous for its eclectic style, which is evident in the way people dress, shop, eat and explore the cities that make up the region. The West Coast resident loves to mix and match her style with the energy of the day, spending a lot of time outdoors being inspired by beautiful landscapes while finding synergy from an elegant night on the town.
While every region of the West Coast notably has its own unique flair, a special tone that is present throughout.
“The West Coast shopper exudes a bohemian, lax, sophisticated aesthetic,” said Cannon, U.S. based stylist. “They skew to be more casual and eclectic than other regions with their style.”
Local retail managers told WWD that when she is shopping for jewelry, the West Coast woman looks for effortless and easy to wear styles. Though never to be duplicated, she looks for pieces that personalize her style, appreciating the simple beauty that a charm can bring to her wardrobe.
Some of the most popular jewelry pieces on the West Coast currently include Roberto Coin’s zodiac pendants – a unique, updated version of personalized jewelry – and initial charms that the wearer loves to mix and match. According to retailers, the West Coast woman loves to wear the charms with classic, shiny yellow gold chains and bracelets, often stacking bangles and bracelets.
The Seattle shopper specifically, they said, is all about understated elegance, making signature collections from Roberto Coin, like Princess Flower and Venetian Princess a great match. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles shopper loves to layer finding different pendants to feature on multiple necklace chains for an eclectic result.
In the upcoming season, Cannon told WWD “emerging trends in the region are oversized pieces such as blazers, button down shirts and jeans. Maximalism is trending and they’re looking at more corsetry and ruching.”
Texas Spotlight: Dallas
While the Texas woman may seem worlds apart in style from the women of Seattle and Los Angeles, her taste in jewelry too lies in tiny treasures – and maximalism is always the rule.
Still, the Texas shopper stands out in her appreciation for big, bold jewelry, never shying away from making a statement. Layering has become an essential trend with medallions providing an automatic modern feel, according to retail managers.
Roberto Coin pieces win over the Texan jewelry shopper time and time again with go-to staples that stand the test of time and constant evolution that feels fresh.
“Texas women love fashion and love newness, they’re always looking forward to the newest creations while simultaneously appreciating the pieces they’ve cherished for years,” local retail managers told WWD. “They love to build a collection and Roberto Coin creates one worth collecting – the more the better! Texas women appreciate the ability to blend quality and craftmanship with fashionable yet traditional jewelry trends.”
And the perfect finishing touch? A classic hoop, they said, always does the trick.
