To celebrate its 50th anniversary, John Hardy has launched its Lovestruck collection. The line is the Bali-made brand’s first-ever lab-grown diamond jewelry. The brand also announced its partnership with Grammy award-winning artists and siblings Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell to commemorate the occasion.
Most notably, Eilish and O’Connell were drawn to the Lovestruck collection for its creativity and sustainability credentials, alongside its philanthropic endeavors — “Billie and Finneas’ commitment to sustainability, groundbreaking artistry and creative talent make them a natural and authentic partner for the brand, and in particular for this collection,” said Reed Krakoff, creative chair of John Hardy.
Lovestruck features four proprietary diamond cuts, designed for everyday wear, that are inspired by organic and pebble shapes — a departure from the traditional mainstream diamond shapes. The collection features stackable rings, surf chain pendants with organic shapes and an ear cuff.
The Lovestruck collection continues to solidify the brand’s craft codes with silhouettes that are both handmade and hand-assembled — with artisanal craftsmanship rooted in traditional techniques in Bali and Bangkok.
The organic shapes evoke stones found in nature and were cut to maximize brilliance, which differs from how natural diamonds are cut for value. The lab-grown diamonds are set in reclaimed precious metals and produced in 100 percent renewable energy facilities.
Krakoff told Fairchild Studio that the brand wanted the Lovestruck collection to honor the “perfectly imperfect hand.” He shared that lab-grown diamonds have given John Hardy the freedom to create sculptural and modern shapes, not bound by tradition.
“We pair design freedom with the choices that define John Hardy: reclaimed gold and silver, thoughtful production and an ease that belongs to everyday life,” said Krakoff. “To me, that’s laid-back luxury — jewelry you live in, not save for a moment.”
Krakoff also shared that sustainability isn’t a constraint for the brand; it’s a major driver of its ethos. The lab-created diamonds have opened up creativity by cutting organic stones that keep the artisan’s hand front and center. Krakoff said they paired this freedom of stone cutting with distinct John Hardy designs to keep the pieces intentional.
As part of this new partnership, John Hardy has pledged support for philanthropic initiatives that are important to Eilish and O’Connell, including Support+Feed — a nonprofit organization committed to reducing climate change and aiding food security and access to plant-based foods.
“Laid-back luxury is ease with integrity. Lovestruck is sculptural and human — stones with a little irregularity, set to move with you, meant to be stacked and worn every day. It honors the handwork I saw in Bali while stripping away fussiness. Nothing performative, nothing precious — just pieces you live in that gain character the more you wear them,” concluded Krakoff.
