NEW YORK — LIM College has been approved by the New York State Board of Regents to offer a Master of Professional Studies degree in Global Fashion Supply Chain Management.
The 30-credit, one-year program will launch this fall at the Manhattan school. It is being designed for professionals seeking to advance into strategic management roles, with courses dealing with both the technical and management aspects of the field. Students will also gain firsthand exposure to an actual supply chain network via visits to retailers, shipping ports and local manufacturers. The program is for full-time and part-time students, and LIM is strongly encouraging working professionals. All the courses are held in the evening.

Supply chain management is a growing field. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of logisticians — those who analyze and coordinate an organization’s supply chain — is projected to grow by 22 percent from 2012 to 2022. The average total compensation for supply chain and operations management professionals with a master’s degree is $107,934, according to the 2013 APICS Supply Chain Council Operations Management Employment Outlook.
