The swanky Parisian food retailer Fauchon is among the latest to enter the ingestible beauty market. It will begin selling a trio of Fauchon Beauté green teas—billed to have “well-being” effects—which were created with Viviane Lab and the pharmaceutical industry. There’s one green tea with bitter orange rind, red vine and dandelion meant for slimming; another with grape pits and ginseng meant to fight against aging, and a third with sage, hawthorn and pomegranate meant to beautify skin. The teas will be marketed beginning in May in stores worldwide carrying Fauchon-branded products. Each box of 21 tea sachets is to retail for about $25. Fauchon’s tea business generates 21 percent of its overall sales and the company manufactures 160 tons of tea yearly—a pretty penny, indeed.
