Amal Clooney arrived at the 2025 Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in support of her husband, George Clooney, who was nominated for his role in “Good Night, and Good Luck” on Sunday. The human rights activist honored the night with an ethereal hairdo, styled by Dimitris Giannetos, the architect behind Nicole Scherzinger’s slicked updo, too.
The volume in Clooney’s bouncy blowout was hard to miss as she strode across the red carpet with her partner tucked next to her. Her hair was parted to the side and tucked behind her right ear, allowing her caramel-colored highlights to shine between her dark brown hair in the front. Big barrel curls were carefully added to the ends of her long locks, which came down to her midsection. The style was overtly reminiscent of red carpet trends during the Golden Age of Hollywood.
“Amal wore a beautiful, pearl-detailed Old Hollywood gown, and I wanted her hair to reflect that same timeless elegance. I was inspired by classic Rita Hayworth—soft, brushed-out waves with a glamorous and polished feel,” Giannetos exclusively told WWD. Clooney donned a white gown from Tamara Ralph’s spring 2025 couture collection, which was embellished with strings of natural gemstones from the neckline to the bottom trim.
The hairstylist ensured Clooney’s hair was towel-dried before he went in with a round brush and a blowdryer “to create volume.” He then placed her hair in rollers, letting them sit while he did her makeup. “Once makeup was done, I removed the rollers and brushed out her hair using a paddle brush,” Giannetos explained. The secret to her frizz-free hair? L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray.
For Clooney’s makeup, Giannetos used a lineup of Charlotte Tilbury beauty products, from the TikTok viral Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick in shade five to the beloved Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. Her makeup was sultry, with bits of pigmented blush and shiny highlighter kissing the tip of her nose and cheekbones. Silver shimmer was pressed into her lids above wispy lashes, while her lips were lined with a dusty brown and painted in a coral lip shade.
Giannetos’ use of Charlotte Tilbury makeup comes just a few days after the leading brand announced a partnership with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. This is the first U.S. sports collaboration for Charlotte Tilbury, and the first luxury beauty partnership of its kind for the squad.
