Lips were matte but bold at Temperley London — they featured either a fluorescent orange color or a coral pink shade, a look inspired by London in the Twenties and Thirties, according to MAC Cosmetics’ makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury.
Eyelids were shiny, as were the tops of the cheekbones, thanks to MAC’s All Over Gloss, which Tilbury applied liberally to the models. “There’s a juxtaposition between the matte lip and glossy skin,” said Tilbury. “She’s a Thirties girl.”
Alain Pichon, hairstylist for Aveda backstage at Temperley London, called the style he created a “stronger, more masculine” look. Pichon applied Aveda’s Pure Abundance Lotion directly to the root for a teased effect. “It’s a good alternative to backcombing,” he said of the product.
There was plenty of volume, texture, wave and separation to the hair, all effects Pichon achieved with a flat iron. Finally, he put a roll into the hair at the back of the head, under which flowed a ponytail.
