Golden Beauties at Tracy Reese

At Tracy Reese, makeup artist Mally Roncal looked to the desert as the source for inspiration.

At Tracy Reese, makeup artist Mally Roncal looked to the desert as the source for inspiration. “I was after an easy, fresh and pretty face,” said Roncal, who used products from her own makeup line. The colors for the eyes were inspired by golden sands on the beach during sunset, while the lips were inspired by baby lips, coated in a pink lipstick and a high-shine nude lip gloss.

On both the top and bottom of the eyes, she mixed golden eye shadows Copper Penny and Goldie Locks and applied a shimmer sparkle in the inner eye to help open it up. To accentuate the eyes and give definition, she created a stronger brow and used lots of mascara. Roncal used a pink blush called Get Cheeky in Dawn to create a soft sun-kissed look. “I was sure to not be too heavy on the tanner and bronzing since I wanted natural skin,” she added.

Inspired by a braid she saw in a Bruce Weber photograph, hairstylist Edris Nicholls (working with FHI Heat) described the look as a fusion between the Thirties and Seventies eras. To re-create the look, she combined a braid that started on the top side of the head with a second braid starting behind the ear.

On the nails, models wore a shimmer nude shade called Sally Hansen Tunisian Sand.
