“Get the eight and make it a bit messy!” Pat McGrath announced backstage at Gucci. The makeup artist was referring to Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream, which she layered to gloss effect over a black-shadowed eye. Beforehand, McGrath swooped a black-gray cream shadow — Max Factor’s Star-studded Black — on the socket and underneath the eye, and elongated lashes with Max Factor Volume Couture black mascara. Lips and cheeks were left bare. “It’s very rock ’n’ roll, like Keith Richards,” declared McGrath. Meanwhile, Luigi Mureno toughened things up this season with a messy, long center-parted hairdo that was prepped with Bumble and bumble salt spray. “It’s like she went out partying and fell asleep,” said Mureno, as he teased the top crown of the head.
