Crimps Come Back at Zac Posen

Crimped hair, which was big in the late Seventies and early Eighties, experienced a resurgence at Zac Posen Tuesday.

Crimped hair, which was big in the late Seventies and early Eighties, experienced a resurgence at Zac Posen Tuesday evening when hairstylist Bob Recine crimped locks for L’Oréal Professional. He then pulled the hair back into ponytails for a classic silhouette.

“I’m doing a really simple, classic ponytail,” said Recine, who added that the sides of the hairstyles were kept sleek so crimped, “rigid lines” would stand out. The hair was given a middle part and sprayed with L’Oréal’s Infinium hair spray from the brand’s new Texture Expert line.

Makeup artist James Kaliardos created a “neutral but really glamorous and fun” look at Zac Posen for MAC Cosmetics. “It’s nice, natural skin with a neutral, deep contour under the cheekbone.”

On the eyes, Kaliardos applied a thick layer of Satin Taupe eye shadow across the eyelids and tapered the shade horizontally over the temple for a cat-like look. A metallic gold shade gave a flash to the inner corner of the eye. Brows were “strengthened a little” while the lip was kept nude.
