Allure’s 19th Best of Beauty Awards weighed heavily on the event’s several hundred attendees. Literally.
That’s because the event’s goody bag — make that goody suitcase, on wheels — weighed in this year at a whopping 63 pounds, making it the heaviest and highest-valued (approximately $3,600 worth of product) Allure giveaway ever, noted Agnes Chapski, publisher of Allure.
The event was held on the 63rd floor of One World Trade Center, Condé Nast’s new home.
In addition to passing out awards and suitcases, Allure editor in chief Linda Wells and Chapski also gave attendees a sneak peek of Allure’s upcoming show on Allure’s Video Channel, Allure’s Web site and the Condé Nast Entertainment Network, noting that the magazine is broadening its reach and engagement through original video content. The episode Wells and Chapski previewed was a behind the scenes look with Allure editors on the making of the Best of Beauty Awards.
