Drawing from the Color Lab by Giorgio Armani, makeup artist Linda Cantello created an original color palette, both for the runway, and for this year’s Armani Runway makeup collection.
“Classic makeup with a nod to the Seventies,” she said, describing taupe hues and touches of shimmer.
Lids were dusted with a cold bronze shadow, and thinly lined with a matte, velvety black. Both colors will be found in a compact as part of the Armani Runway Collection to be released in August 2016.
The brows were lightened and filled in with Eye and Brow Maestro in Platinum and Greige, “all very softened and pretty, romantic without being romantic,” Cantello said.
Skin was kept matte, with nothing on the cheeks. Lips were conditioned with Him/Her Lipcare, and painted with a glossy mauve, the FW16 Rouge d’Armani lipstick also included in the Armani Runway collection.
To frame this look, hairstylist Roberta Bellazzi, for Aldo Coppola, fashioned a springy nest of messy curls atop a double French twist.
With the top third of hair sectioned off, the bottom part, wet with L’Oréal Tecni.Art Gel, was combed backward, pinned into a twist and set with a blow dryer. The loose hair was then loaded with Shu Uemura Sheer Lacquer styling spray, and blow dried upward. Small hot irons curled the hair into tendrils, while hands broke them into wispier curls. Pins were used when necessary to sculpt the desired shape.
