Anthony Vaccarello’s strong, sexy clothes typically call out for pumped up, greasy or rock ‘n’ roll hair. Hairstylist Anthony Turner had another idea.
“This time we’ve gone the completely opposite direction. It’s super light, very soft. It’s very brushed, very cool and nonchalant,” he said.
Turner explained he used no product, just shampooed tresses and then raked them back with his fingers into low, loose ponytails with a slightly masculine vibe. He also loosened some wisps around their hairline.
“So it contradicts the collection in a way, but it kind of makes the girl feel more real,” said Turner, of the look overall. “It’s extraordinarily natural.”
Ditto for the main makeup statement. Tom Pecheux called it “gentle, “natural” and “very subtle.” Using the new Anthony Vaccarello for Lancôme Hypnôse Palette, Pecheux dusted lids with a brown and a gold hue “to catch the light, create the texture of light on the eyes and a kind of sophistication,” he explained.
The metallic tones were swept beyond peepers’ outer corners giving what Pecheux termed a “feline” effect. Otherwise, he brushed eyebrows up and used ChapStick on lips.
Four models sported a bolder look, with a red lip and the same red on models’ lids. The latter gave a strong graphic element in keeping with other eye makeup Pecheux had dreamed up for Anthony Vaccarello in seasons past. “I think it was important to show individuality and uniqueness,” said Pecheux.
